Equine Ambulance & Medical Transport


Rear of trailer is hydraulically lowered for easy access by an injured animal.

Available for:

  • Stand-by at equine events
  • Medical transport of injured and sick horses and other large animals. Note: your veterinarian must order the service and be present to assist in loading.

Specialized Features:

  • Hydraulic ramp can be lowered to ground level
  • Adjustable 'squeeze' stall can support injured animal.
  • Specialized floor glide for moving down animals aboard.

  • The ambulance is custom-built by Kimzey Medical Products in California.
  • It is one of only 30 in the world designed specifically for medical horse transport.
  • Construction takes approximately one year, at a cost of $160,000.
  • The first Kimzey ambulance was unveiled in 1979 at the Santa Anita racetrack.
  • This ambulance was donated to the Friends of the UW School of Veterinary Medicine by Mr. Morrie Waud.
